Japanese Culture Night 2025: Connecting and Culture Learning

It has become a tradition for the Japanese Language and Culture Student Association (Himawari) at Diponegoro University to hold events that showcase the richness of Japanese culture. On September 26, 2025, Himawari once again held a special moment through the Cultural and Talent Division’s program, the Japanese Culture Night (JCN), held at the GSG of Diponegoro University’s Faculty of Cultural Sciences. The event was attended by Japanese Language and Culture students from various year levels, study programs, and even other faculties, gathering together to celebrate Japanese culture with great enthusiasm.

The Japanese Culture Night 2025 opened with warm welcomes and speeches from the head of the Japanese Language and Culture Night 2025 program, the association advisor, the head of the association, and the event’s chief organizer. The atmosphere became even livelier when the Harukaze Odori club performed their signature Japanese dance, making the event more exciting and vibrant.

Next, participants joined a sharing session with Arsi Widiandari, S.S., M.Si., who discussed Japanese culture in the Medieval Period in an interactive setting. The event then continued with a song-cover and cosplay-walk competition, where participants showcased their talents and creativity through singing and displaying their costumes. The performances were enthusiastically received by the audience, creating a joyful atmosphere. Not to be missed, a series of exciting games were also held, giving participants the chance to win attractive prizes prepared by the committee.

Through this series of activities, Japanese Culture Night 2025 succeeded in becoming both an entertaining and educational event. In addition, since the schedule of Japanese Culture Night 2025 coincided with the new student orientation series, the event also provided an opportunity for Japanese Language and Culture students to get to know each other and strengthen their relationships, making it not only a source of entertainment and education but also an opportunity to bond among students.
