LKMMPD BKJ 2025: Character Building and Self-Management Skills Development Process for New Students

On August 24, 2025, The Student Association of Japanese Language and Culture began a series of Pre-Basic Student Leadership and Management Training, or LKMMPD for short. This year, the Student Welfare and Resource Empowerment Division (K&PSDM) conducted a series of LKMMPD events to develop self-management skills, foster leadership qualities, build character, and train new students to adapt to the academic environment. The program is divided into three parts: Pre-LKMMPD, D-day LKMMPD, and the closing ceremony. Pre-LKMMPD featured a welcome speech by the chief executive of the event, the chairperson of Himawari for the 2025 period, an introduction to the Himawari Asteria cabinet, group and mentor assignments, as well as the assignment of uploading twibbons to each participant’s Instagram account and creating a friend book.

The first day of LKMMPD, held on September 14, 2025, at the Multipurpose Building, Faculty of Humanities, featured two speakers, namely Imam Morezki as the 2025 Faculty of Law BEM Chair, who presented a session titled “Your Potential, Your Key”. The second speaker was Arkan Fadillah, Head of the Cadre Development Division at the Undip Humanitarian Da’wah Institute, who gave a presentation on “Critical Thinking.” The participants listened enthusiastically to the material presented and actively asked questions during the Q&A session.

The second day of LKMMPD was held two weeks after the first day, on September 27, 2025, at the same venue. The second day featured two equally interesting speakers, namely Dhaifina Khafifah, Head of the Research and Advocacy Department of Girl Up Diponegoro 2023-2024, who raised the topic of “Prevention of Sexual Violence”. Next, the second speaker, Muhammad H. N. Farisy, presented material on “The Basics of Communication.” Similar to the first day, the participants were also very enthusiastic about listening to and taking notes on the material presented by the speakers and actively asking questions.

The LKMMPD event ran smoothly until its closing. On the last day, there was an interesting performance in the form of a performance presented by the new students. The performance was presented with great enthusiasm by the audience. The event was then closed with the announcement of the graduates and the best participants of this year’s LKMMPD.
