On Friday, April 26, 2024, a community service event was held at SMK Negeri 9 Semarang, initiated by a team of three lecturers: Zaki Ainul Fadli, Elizabeth I.H.A.N. Rini and Fajria Noviana. They were assisted by several students from the Japanese Language and Culture Study Program. The theme of this community service was “Introduction to Minato Website as a Japanese Language Learning Media”.
During the event, the participants were introduced to Minato Website, an innovative platform for learning Japanese. The session included a detailed presentation of the website, practical guidance on how to create user accounts, and a brief tutorial on how to navigate and use the features of the Minato Website. To add an element of fun and engagement, the team organized a quiz to assess the students’ understanding of the material presented. This interactive segment not only reinforced the learning, but also kept the students excited and engaged.
The community service event was a resounding success. The students of SMK Negeri 9 Semarang participated seriously and showed great interest in the activities. The positive feedback from the participating teachers highlighted the impact and effectiveness of the event. Overall, the initiative was well received and marked a successful collaboration between teachers, students and the community of SMK Negeri 9 Semarang. This event not only provided valuable knowledge about Japanese language learning resources, but also fostered a spirit of learning and curiosity among the students.
