Exchange Experiences and Strengthen Friendships: Himawari Undip and Nikigakka UMY 2025 Comparative Study

May 3, 2025, the Japanese Language and Culture Student Association of Diponegoro University (Himawari) has conducted a comparative study with the Japanese Language Education Student Association of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta University (Nikigakka) which was held at Muhammadiyah Yogakarta University. This activity was attended by all Himawari and Nikigakka staff, Himawari Advisor, Mr. Ichlasul Ayyub, S.S., M.Si., and Nikigakka Advisor, Mrs. Wistri Meisa, M.Pd. This activity does not only aim to simply visit between universities and related study programs, but to share experiences, exchange inspiration, and strengthen relationships between both student associations 

This activity began with the opening by the master of ceremony, reading the Qur’an, singing the obligatory song, then continued with remarks from the chief committee of comparative study event, Farah Annastasya Akbar and continued with remarks from the Chairman of Himawari and Nikigakka and the Advisor of Himawari and Nikigakka. After that, each head of the organization introduced their organization and continued with a discussion session. 

This discussion session is an open space to share experiences and inspiration on how each organization manages each division, compiles and implements work programs, and activities on their respective campuses. In this discussion session, it is hoped that each organization can gain insight from the ideas that have been presented. 

In addition to the discussion session, this comparative study was also enlivened by performances from Harukaze Odori Himawari and interesting performances from the Nikigakka music group. No less exciting, a game session was held after both performances, which aimed to strengthen bonding between organizations and it was full of lively energyv. 

This activity was closed with a session of handing over mementos, then continued with a documentation session with all participants. The knowledge and experience gained, as well as the strengthening of the relationship between Himawari Undip and Nikigakka UMY are expected to encourage strong collaboration between students and related study programs, and the knowledge gained can also be applied in organizational life.
