The members of HMPS S1 Japanese Language and Culture Undip together with the Al-Barokah Orphanage have carried out the ‘HIDROFICATION’ Work Program. HIDROFICATION is an activity under the responsibility of the Community Service field of HMPS S1 Japanese Language and Culture which invites the orphanage to planting activities using the hydroponic method. The hydroponic method is a plant cultivation technique without using planting media in the form of soil.
HIDROFICATION has opened an Open Recruitment Volunteer on October 26 and there were 12 people who registered. HIDROFICATON was held on Sunday, October 29, 2023 offline at Al-Barokah Orphanage, Sumurboto, Banyumanik.
The activity began after the Hydropication committee, Yafi Annisa Parasati, gave a brief explanation regarding the steps of planting with hydroponic techniques to the volunteers and the orphanage. After a brief explanation, volunteers and the orphanage began to carry out the planting method according to the steps that were exemplified. The enthusiasm of the orphanage children and volunteers was very good, as evidenced when the children wrote their names on the pots containing the planted vegetable seeds. Next, the volunteers conducted a small game by giving easy questions related to hydroponics, with good enthusiasm. The organizers gave prizes to the children who had participated in the HIDROFICATION activity.
In this activity, it is expected to be able to strengthen the relationship of HMPS S1 Japanese Language and Culture to the Al-Barokah orphanage, and become a useful education for the orphanage and volunteers regarding plant cultivation with hydroponic methods.
