Once again, students of the Japanese Language and Culture program have achieved remarkable success and demonstrated their existence by presenting four students who have qualified and become delegates from the Faculty of Humanities (FIB) in the Diponegoro Art Competition. They are Muhammad Raymond Pratama, Aimee Ulya Zahrah Permadi Putri, Shella Annastasya Putri Hidayat, and Iqbal Ananda Novanto.
Raymond has a hobby in photography, which was the main reason for his registration and participation in the color photography category of the FIB Got Talent competition. Raymond expressed surprise and disbelief when his name was announced as the winner and selected as a delegate from FIB in the Diponegoro Art Competition. “Initially, I felt that my preparation was not optimal, and the registration time was also quite sudden,” he said. However, with perseverance and support from his friends, Raymond became even more motivated to develop his talent in photography. In the end, he successfully completed the color photography task and won the competition this time.
Aimee herself before participating in the FIB Got Talent competition, she had won a poetry competition organized by KMSI. However, Aimee felt that she was still not satisfied with the results of the competition. Aimee also said that during the process of making poetry, she did not experience the slightest obstacle. That’s because she reflected the meaning of the poems she wrote from the real world. When the winner was announced, Aimee did not expect that she had won the poetry competition and became the FIB delegate in the Diponegoro Art Competition.
Shella had initially intended to participate in the Comic Strip category of FIB Got Talent last year, but unfortunately, due to various reasons, she was unable to join. This year, she made her mark in FIB Got Talent. Shella mentioned that the comic strip she created coincided with her recent presence at a cosplay event. The interesting thing here is that, despite the short amount of time, Shella was able to create an engaging comic strip based on her reflection on her experience at the cosplay event. “So I could say that the story in this comic strip is based on a real-life event that I experienced at that time,” she said. Unexpectedly, this became one of the attractions and led her to become one of the winners in FIB Got Talent.
Iqbal said that he first developed his interest in writing short stories because when he was still in school he got an assignment to make a short story essay. Then, the thing that caused Iqbal to finally decide to participate in the short story writing competition this time, because of the encouragement of his surrounding friends to try to take part in the competition. Apart from his friends, Iqbal also received motivation after attending the Himact event organized by Himawari. At first he was not sure he would win because he felt that the works of other participants were better and more powerful. However, he still told himself that not winning is okay as long as he has tried and will make this opportunity his experience. But in the end, unexpectedly at the time of the announcement Iqbal managed to win the short story writing competition.
Hopefully, the experience gained by Raymond, Aimee, Shella, and Iqbal can increase the motivation of other Japanese Language and Culture Students so that they will more often participate in competitions and can also make the Japanese Language and Culture Study Program proud to win the Diponegoro Art Competition.
