Japanese Language and Culture Program, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University in collaboration with Faculty of Humanities, Hasanuddin University and Gajah Mada University, held a webinar on Japanese history entitled “Micro History Webinar: Indonesia and Japan Relationship Series #2 and held on August 25, 2020 (from 13:00 to 15:30) through the Zoom Meeting application. This webinar invited 2 historical experts as speakers, namely Prof. Kurasawa Aiko from Keio University (accompanied by Meta Astuti, PhD from Hasanuddin University) and Dr Agus Suwignyo, M.A from Gadjah Mada University. Moreover, Dias Pradadimara, M.A from Hasanuddin University as a moderator.
This webinar has provided a lot of knowledge and insight into Japanese history, both for academics at the Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University, as well as for academics from other universities throughout Indonesia. Prof. Kurasawa Aiko describes the story of stateless women in Indonesia, and Dr Agus Suwignyo, M.A explained about the post-tsunami communities in Aceh and Japan. This webinar was successfully attended by more than 250 people, and welcomed directly by Dr Alamsyah, SS, M.Hum as Deputy Dean I of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Diponegoro University.
