Semarang, November 10, 2024—On Sunday morning, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Diponegoro University, was filled with a lively atmosphere full of Japanese cultural enthusiasm. The annual ORENJI Education 2024 event was held again, presenting various competitions that attracted participants’ interest, especially lovers of Japanese culture.
The event was opened with a warm welcome from the ORENJI 2024 Executive Committee Chairperson, who expressed his gratitude to all parties who supported the implementation of this event. Continued with a speech from the Advisor of the Japanese Language and Culture Study Program Student Association (HMPS), who encouraged all participants. At the peak, the Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences and his staff were also present to give a speech and appreciation for the implementation of this event.
ORENJI Education, an abbreviation of the Original Event of Japan in Indonesia, is an annual event organized by the HMPS Japanese Language and Culture Undip to promote and preserve Japanese culture in Indonesia. This year, ORENJI Education 2024 presents four challenging competition categories: Shodou, Kamishibai, Speech, and LCC.
The participants’ enthusiasm can be seen from the large number of high school students and equivalent to college students who participated in the competition. They competed to show their best abilities in each competition category. All participants showed high enthusiasm and creativity when competing. They not only showed their academic skills but also showed their love for Japanese culture. In addition, this event was also enlivened by various art performances, such as the traditional Japanese dance, Odori, which consisted of male and female students from the Japanese Language and Culture study program.
The event closed with the announcement of the winners and the presentation of prizes to the champions. The winners were delighted and proud of their achievements.
